How do I select what file I want
to upload?
To select the file you want to upload, click on the Browse button,
and browse to the location of the file you want to upload. Double
click on this file and the path/name should appear in the box
to the left of the "Upload" button.
Can I overwrite files that are already
here?
No. This is for the protection of the groups' files. The only
way to upload a similarly named file would be to append a number
to the end of the filename. You can do this by either changing
the name of the file on your own computer prior to uploading,
or change the name of a file after uploading with the 'Rename'
option.
What if I want to change the name of
a file?
You can rename any file on the site with the rename function.
This is useful if you want to declare a file "old" prior to uploading
a new version of the file. Or, you can make corrections after
you upload something and realize that the name "dca5149.htm" isn't
quite what you had in mind. Simply click on the rename link to
the right of the file you want to rename and supply the new name.
How can I delete a file from the listing?
This function is not available from the website, in order to
protect the groups' files from accidental clicks. If you would
like to have a file removed, simply send an e-mail message to webmaster@emsus.com.
Be sure to indicate that you want a file deleted from the Drycleaners
file exchange area, and include the name of the file in your
message.
How do I use a file with a .zip extension?
Files with a .zip extension have been compressed in a Zip archive
(not to be confused with Iomega ZIP disks). You must uncompress
the file before using it. One commonly used application for handling
.zip archives is WinZip available at http://www.winzip.com/.
How do I download a file?
To download a file from the SCRD File Exchange Area to your
computer, simply click on the filename. At this point, you'll
need to tell your computer where to save the file. Please note
that any changes made to the a file you download won't be reflected
in the copy on the website. If you make changes to the file,
you should rename it and upload it to the site.
